Richard Clay is the former loyal secretary of George Russell. Clay is charged with running the railway tycoon's booming business. He is efficient and savvy, and is quick with an intelligent solution as a sly workaround, and George uses the full extent of his skills in pursuit of financial security. He is later fired by George and later becomes the new business partner of Risley Sage as a payback for being fired, but his plans are eventually ruined.
