Early life[]
Season 1[]
Miss Ellen serves lunch to Arthur, Dorothy and Peggy Scott during Dorothy's birthday. While the family is dining together, Marian Brook rings the doorbell, and Ellen answers. Marian is left embarrassed, having assumed that the family was poor, not rich enough to hire a maid. Ellen asks if Marian has a card, and she carries it to the Scotts during lunch. Dorothy instructs Ellen to bring Marian into the parlor, where an awkward scene takes place between Marian and the Scotts, with Peggy deciding to leave early.[1]
